Last day in Florida. I'm having mixed feelings, and I fracking hate mixed feelings. I miss Atlanta. I miss my starbucks, and my writing time.
But I hate to leave West Palm. I hate to leave my mom and sister, and not see them again for a few more months. To see my kids play with the only gramma' or abuelita, they've really known and been able to play with.
That sucks, and it almost makes me want to move here, if I didn't miss Atlanta so much.

I know what you mean. My parents and in-laws live in Nashville, TN. We live in Raleigh, NC. That's a lot of distance. But I also love the autonomy and the independence associated with being nine hours away!
How many kids do you have? What ages?
Mine are 4 (Jake) and 20 months (Natalie).

It is a terrible thing. My family are so far away and every time my mother comes to visit, we get a short moment of happiness, and this feeling of being a lovely big family...grandparents are such a lovely thing for kids to experience. and if you don't get to see them often enough it is very sad indeed.
I know how you feel. I live in Dallas and all my family lives in New Orleans. They visited for Thanksgiving and it always makes me sad to see them go, especially now that I have a kiddo. But like you, I like where I live and really don't want to move back home. I just wish they lived here. Have a safe trip back to Atlanta.
I've had those feeling often. And even though the moment before heading home can be tough, I always love to be home again.
But that's the beauty of being so far away. It makes you appreciate those people. Believe me,Palm Beach is good for no one. I'm just down the road. Enjoy your 500 mile buffer.
I always hate leaving my Dad after a visit to Tucson. Can't say the same thing for my brother and his wife.
Do you know that I have never been to Atlanta? Not even the airport. Seems a shame somehow.
If my family lived in West Palm, I wouldn't want to leave either.
In truth, I feel the same way when I visit my grandmother in Bloomington, even sans kiddos. I am thankful that it's just two hours of Indiana backroads that separate me from that lady.
I could have waved at you. I'm just north of WPB. I hope Atlanta is receiving you with ease. Everyone I've ever known to live there loved it.
I guess I'm lucky cuz all of my family lives in the same state.
Good luck to you.
Thanks! I have two boys ages 8 (Gio) and 6 (Nico)
It does suck to have loved ones far, though sometimes it's nice. More times than not, however, I wish they were closer. Mainly when I know that I could do more for them that way.
Another reason why I don't think I'd like to move to Florida is because its hot. All the time. Well, maybe not all the time, but atleast 50 weeks a year it is!
You're my hero simply because you live in Atlanta! I've always wanted to move there.

Thanks for stopping by. :)
